Design for theatre
Scott Lehrer received the first TONY Award for Best Sound Design of a Musical as well as the Drama Desk Award for his work on Bartlett Sher’s 2008 revival of South Pacific at Lincoln Center Theater.
Other Broadway work by Scott Lehrer includes Aaron Sorkin’s To Kill a Mockingbird, the revival of Carousel, Hello Dolly starring Bette Midler, The Front Page with Nathan Lane, John Slattery and John Goodman, George C. Wolfe’s musical Shuffle Along starring Audra McDonald and Bartlett Sher’s productions of Fiddler on the Roof and The King and I.
Off-Broadway and regional work by Scott includes Richard Nelson’s Illyria, and his Michaels, Gabriel, and Apple family plays at the Public Theater as well as his new translation of The Guardsman directed by Gregory Mosher at the Kennedy Center.
